Esprit Model Mandarin 3.6E F5J/ALES Sailplane

The Mandarin Competition 3.6m sailplane is the newest addition to the ever-growing family of European, hand-made electric sailplanes. Brand new Mandarin 3.6E F5J/ALES with its beautiful X-tail and elegant, tapered leading edge wing is simply breath-taking to watch as it thermals almost out of sight at your favorite field. This plane is an incredibly well rounded, stable and predictable flyer, suitable for experienced beginners as well as advanced pilots. The synergy of low weight and strong structure is very unusual in a production sailplane and can only be achieved with careful attention to design and construction. The entire model is constructed using free-flight techniques. The wings are balsa sheeted, foam core with Carbon Fiber reinforced I-Beam main spar. The hollow molded stabilizer and vertical fin come with balsa built-up control surfaces that are covered in transparent iron-on film. The fuselage is gel-coated Kevlar/CF with Kevlar/Carbon Fiber tapered tail boom. Whole model is covered with Ultracote. All control surfaces are hinged with adhesive tape. Airplane comes with optional pushrods for in-fuselage tail servo installation. We recommend using micro servos directly in the tail for more precise control, both versions are described in the manual. This fully built sailplane needs only basic assembly and motor/radio installation. The two piece wing is easily removable for transport and storage. Each part is carefully hand-crafted with meticulous attention to detail.

Competition F5J/LMR (Limited Motor Run) or ALES (Altitude Limited Electric Soaring) electric sailplane.
