FLY RC Magazine - Weekly Wing Tips: BALANCING FOAMIES

Recently I had to balance a foamie glider. Taping lead or coins to the plane always looks a bit crude. This time I balanced the plane using the tape method, but then took it a little farther. When I had it perfect I marked the location and removed the tape. I then took a soldering iron and heated the coins while they were resting on the foam. This causes them to sink into the foam at a slow rate. Remove the heat when they are just about flush. They will continue to sink a bit. Then cover with a decal or color tape. No more ugly bumps!
